******** Breaking News - New Mix Uploaded ********

After almost 2 years since my last external upload, I have finally had a new mix shared via local naarm mix series, home end. The mix features a lot of my regular steady deep house selections, I wanted the mix to not really rush you into anything. Very pleased with the result of the mix, and I hope you all enjoy listening :)

I apologize it's been a little bit longer since I updated this main page. I have been pretty busy, having most recently just returned from my weekend trip to Sydney. What a lovely time! Darcy and I savoured so many delicious bars, restaurants and eateries. I had the opportunity to hit up some impressive record stores while I was there too. Great digging was had at Tengu Records, Papa Disquo and of course Fanatico Records. Of course, the highlight of the trip and the main purpose of our visit was for witnessing the extraordinary DJ Sprinkles deep within the bowels of the Sydney Opera House.
Wow! Having already had an existential crisis the first time I saw Sprinkles perform at Inner Varnika 2023, I was excited to prepare myself for another amazing experience. I wasn't disappointed. She played so many great cuts of her extended catalog, and performed newer productions that sounded so sophisticated and deep. I really don't think there is anyone quite like Terre Thaemlitz. The venue and the production was also incredible too and really was an amazing experience. I am already trying to think about the next time I would like to see Sprinkles play again!
Back from Sydney, things are progressing much as it always has. I am doing some more work on the bar at work which is exciting. It's good to be behind the sticks of the turntables there. I haven't been DJing an awful lot but then again it is winter. The city is slowing down but I intend to try and engage with the club scene again. I mentioned in last months update that I am hoping to have some gigs organised towards the end of the year. So I'm happy to relax and enjoy the planning mode that comes with those ideas.
I'm happy to say that the Sydney trip will not be the only major piece of travel. My next big trip will now happen in the form of a long journey to Central Australia. We will journey all the way to Alice Spring's for the Beanie Festival which we are very excited about. We will also venture to Uluru, the landmark at the heart of Australia for my birthday which will be something to remember. I am really looking forward to also having some fun at a little doof organised organised by crew near Alice which I am excited to be DJing at. We leave for Central Australia in mid-June.
If you were also paying close attention to the Soundcloud playlist, yuou might have seen a pretty interesting and exciting episode for Tepid Rhythm. I was very lucky to welcome Ethan and Lee who are the head organisers of the infamous Chapel Street afterhours The Breakfast Club. On the show we talked in depth about their 12 years of monday parties. It was very interesting to hear the origin story of this legendary party and some of the tranformations the party has taken over the years. We also played some cult Breakfast Club tunes at the end od the show, with the boys sharing some special memories connected to the music. A big thanks to the Brekkie Club boys for coming in, I look forward to hopefully having some more guests on Tepid Rhythm this year. You can listen to the episode via the music tab.
